Overal chemie
Keramiek, met hier en daar glas.
De link met het thema fotosynthese is erg duidelijk.
Ik ga eigenlijk niet verder dan een visuele voorstelling van de wonderlijke chemie die lucht, water en zonlicht omzet in het groene weefsel dat onze planeet zo verfraait en ons van energie voorziet. En als bijproduct nog eens gezonde lucht afzet.
Elk van de hoger genoemde aspecten beeld ik uit via een abstracte keramische vorm, in mijn eigen beeldtaal. Ik hou van strakke geometrische vormen. De dialoog tussen de vormen is belangrijk.
In deze installatie werk ik steeds met dezelfde topvorm. De halve bol met 12 inkepingen. Het staat voor de bewerking van de mens op de natuurelementen.
De installatie is in evenwicht, 3-1-3.
Ik stel mij met dit werk niet kritisch op, maar vertrouw in de harmoniserende kracht van de natuur.

Chemistry everywhere
Céramique, avec ici et là du verre.
Le lien avec le thème de la photosynthèse est très clair.
À vrai dire, je ne vais pas plus loin qu’une représentation visuelle de cette merveilleuse alchimie qui transforme l’air, l’eau et la lumière du soleil en ce tissu végétal qui embellit si bien notre planète et nous fournit de l’énergie. Tout en produisant, en prime, de l’air pur.
Chacun des aspects mentionnés ci-dessus se traduit par une forme céramique abstraite, dans mon propre langage visuel. J’aime les formes géométriques épurées. Le dialogue entre les formes est essentiel.
Dans cette installation, je travaille toujours avec la même forme de base : une demi-sphère comportant 12 entailles. Elle symbolise l’intervention de l’homme sur les éléments naturels.
L’installation est équilibrée, 3-1-3.
Avec cette œuvre, je n’adopte pas une posture critique : je fais confiance à la force harmonisante de la nature.

Chemistry everywhere
Ceramics, with some glass here and there.
The link to the theme of photosynthesis is very clear.
I am essentially offering nothing more than a visual representation of the marvellous chemistry that transforms air, water and sunlight into the green tissue that so beautifies our planet and provides us with energy. And as a by-product, it also produces clean air.
I depict each of the aspects mentioned above through an abstract ceramic form, in my own visual language. I love clean, geometric shapes. The dialogue between the forms is important.
In this installation, I consistently work with the same basic form: the hemisphere with 12 notches. It represents humanity’s influence on the elements of nature.
The installation is balanced, 3-1-3.
With this work, I do not adopt a critical stance, but trust in the harmonising power of nature.
