Porseleinen installatie
‘De magie van licht’: het licht- en schaduwspel van de natuur vindt een echo in een installatie van porseleinen schalen.
Inspiratie: fotosynthese in Victoria waterlelies (water, licht, huidmondjes)
Net zoals bij de fotosynthese van de waterlelies, is de aanwezigheid van licht erg belangrijk in de installatie. Door bouwelementen in gietporselein te spuiten en sculpturaal op te bouwen zoals de huidmondjes in een waterlelie, verkrijgen de werken een betoverende schaduwwerking. Naast de letterlijke magie van het licht in het fotosyntheseproces, wordt het licht zo ook figuurlijk magisch. Dit wordt nogmaals versterkt door de keuze voor het lichtdoorlatende porselein. De fragiliteit van porselein is tevens een symbool voor de fragiliteit van de natuur.
De installatie ‘Magie van licht’ is opgebouwd uit een 20-tal porseleinen schalen in verschillende groottes en organische vormen in en rond de vijver. Het fotosyntheseproces doet de porseleinenschalen – net zoals de Victoria waterlelies – groeien.

La Magie de la lumière
Installation en porcelaine
‘La magie de la lumière’ : le jeu de lumière et d’ombre de la nature trouve un écho dans une installation de coupes en porcelaine.
Inspiration : la photosynthèse chez les nénuphars Victoria (eau, lumière, stomates).
Tout comme pour la photosynthèse des nénuphars, la présence de lumière est essentielle dans l’installation. En pulvérisant des éléments architecturaux en porcelaine coulée et en les assemblant de manière sculpturale, à l’image des stomates d’un nénuphar, les œuvres produisent un jeu d’ombres envoûtant. Au-delà de la magie littérale de la lumière dans le processus de photosynthèse, la lumière devient ici également magique au sens figuré. Ce phénomène est renforcé par le choix de la porcelaine translucide. La fragilité de ce matériau symbolise par ailleurs la fragilité de la nature.
L’installation La Magie de lumière se compose d’une vingtaine de coupes en porcelaine, de tailles et de formes organiques variées, disposées dans et autour du bassin. Le processus de photosynthèse fait croître ces coupes de porcelaine — tout comme les nénuphars Victoria.

‘The Magic of Light’: nature’s interplay of light and shadow is echoed in an installation of porcelain bowls.
Inspiration: photosynthesis in Victoria water lilies (water, light, stomata)
Just as with the photosynthesis of water lilies, the presence of light is very important in the installation. By casting elements in porcelain and assembling them sculpturally, much like the stomata in a water lily, the works acquire an enchanting play of shadows. In addition to the literal magic of light in the photosynthesis process, the light thus also becomes figuratively magical. This is further enhanced by the choice of translucent porcelain. The fragility of porcelain is also a symbol of the fragility of nature.
The installation ‘Magic of Light’ consists of around 20 porcelain bowls of various sizes and organic shapes in and around the pond. The process of photosynthesis causes the porcelain bowls – just like the Victoria water lilies – to grow.
