Mixed media: koper en messingdraad gesoldeerd, bekleed met zelf samengestelde pasta.
Met mijn sculpturen wil ik een ode brengen aan het wonderlijke proces dat zich via de fotosynthese in planten voltrekt.
De sculpturen vormen een reeks persoonlijke interpretaties van planten. Het zijn geen kopies van bestaande planten maar wel eigen interpretaties en abstracties, aangevuld door eigen verbeelding.
Met een minimalistische interpretatie wil ik de ongelofelijke verscheidenheid en elegantie van planten door deze sculpturen weergeven.
Een metalen draadstructuur vormt de basis van elke mixed-media sculptuur. Deze draadstructuur wordt gecoat met een zelf samengestelde uithardende pasta. Na uitharding wordt de vorm afgewerkt door te schuren en te vijlen totdat de holle en bolle vormen glad zijn en de bogen strak en zuiver.
Uiteindelijk wordt een patina aangebracht waarmee de uitstraling wordt benadrukt.

Techniques mixtes : fil de cuivre et de laiton soudé, recouvert d’une pâte de composition personnelle
À travers mes sculptures, je souhaite rendre hommage au processus merveilleux qui s’opère dans les plantes grâce à la photosynthèse.
Ces sculptures constituent une série d’interprétations personnelles de plantes. Il ne s’agit pas de copies de plantes existantes, mais bien d’interprétations et d’abstractions personnelles, enrichies par ma propre imagination.
À partir d’une interprétation minimaliste, je souhaite rendre compte de l’incroyable diversité et de l’élégance des plantes à travers ces sculptures.
Une armature métallique constitue la base de chaque sculpture en techniques mixtes. Cette armature est recouverte d’une pâte durcissante de composition propre. Une fois durcie, la forme est finie par ponçage et limage jusqu’à ce que les parties concaves et convexes soient lisses et que les courbes soient nettes et précises.
Enfin, une patine est appliquée afin de mettre en valeur l’aspect de l’objet.

Through my sculptures, I wish to pay tribute to the marvellous process that takes place in plants via photosynthesis.
The sculptures form a series of personal interpretations of plants. They are not copies of existing plants, but rather my own interpretations and abstractions, supplemented by my own imagination.
Through a minimalist interpretation, I aim to convey the incredible diversity and elegance of plants via these sculptures.
A metal wire structure forms the basis of each mixed-media sculpture. This wire structure is coated with a self-formulated hardening paste. After hardening, the form is finished by sanding and filing until the concave and convex shapes are smooth and the curves are taut and clean.
Finally, a patina is applied to emphasise the appearance.
