Keramisch werk in hoogbakkende witte klei
Een link met planten is er altijd geweest, door mijn opvoeding en mijn opleiding als tuinarchitect. Toen ik het thema fotosynthese las, had ik onmiddellijk een idee hoe ik het ging uitvoeren: gestileerde bladeren in witte klei, met een toefje celadon glazuur om te verwijzen naar het groene, chlorofyl in bladeren. Witte klei om het licht en zuiverheid te benadrukken. Hier en daar heb ik een huidmondje geplaatst om te verwijzen naar fotosynthese. De drie bladeren zijn doorlatend zodat je het groen op de achtergrond kunt zien, transparant…

Feuille d’or blanc
Œuvre céramique en argile blanche haute température
J’ai toujours eu un lien avec les plantes, grâce à mon éducation et à ma formation d’architecte paysagiste. Lorsque j’ai choisi le thème de la photosynthèse, j’ai immédiatement su comment le mettre en œuvre : des feuilles stylisées en argile blanche, rehaussées d’une touche de glaçure céladon pour évoquer le vert de la chlorophylle dans les feuilles. L’argile blanche permet de souligner la lumière et la pureté. Çà et là, j’ai ajouté un stomate pour faire référence à la photosynthèse. Les trois feuilles sont perméables, laissant apparaître le vert à l’arrière-plan, dans une transparence…

There has always been a connection with plants, thanks to my upbringing and my training as a landscape architect.
